Fun Farm Social Media Post Ideas

We all know we should be posting about our farm on social media...but posting what exactly?

Sadly, an endless gallery of vegetables isn't very exciting. You probably won't have customers rushing to your account so they can like and share carrot pics 🤣

So what should you post?

Well, here's a list of ideas to get you brainstorming!

⭐ Farm to Kitchen ⭐

Share recipes and kitchen tutorials featuring food from your farm! This is a great way to teach your customers how to use the food they buy, as well as bring in new customers who are eager to try your recipes. For example, my wife Savannah sometimes posts “Let’s Make Dinner” videos, where she picks a recipe and records herself making dinner, talking through each step.

⭐ Beneath the Plastic ⭐

Give your audience a peak inside your tunnels/greenhouses with a short video tour. What’s currently growing? What’s currently being harvested? You can even post weekly greenhouse updates. Your followers love following along and seeing the progress each week.

⭐ Team in Action ⭐

Snap a few shots of your team members in action as they go about their daily farm work. These action shots are a way to show your customers the real people who are outside every day, working hard to grow food for them.

⭐ Happy Customer

Did you recently have a chat with a happy customer? Don’t let the opportunity slide! Share their story with your followers, and highlight how they found your farm and why they buy from you. Maybe take a selfie with the customer or share a pic of them with their latest purchase.

⭐ Product Display

Every time you have a new display - whether it’s for your farm stand, market stand, vendor booth, etc. - take a photo! Share your display pics to showcase your products and keep customers updated on what’s in stock.

⭐ Kids on the Farm

Ok, this one may be a little bit of a cheat. But…everybody loves seeing adorable photos of kids out on the farm, especially if they happen to be covered in strawberry juice, chomping down on some fresh veggies, or trying to ‘help’ the team get their work done 😂

⭐ Ridiculous Vegetables

Happen to dig up an abnormally large and odd-shaped potato? Or carrots that look like they’re hugging each other? Share pics of your weirdest veggies, with a little bit of humorous text to get your customers laughing! Posts like these may seem pointless, but they tend to be the memorable ones.

Challenge for you:

Pick one content idea from this list that you haven’t tried yet, and create a few social media posts around that idea. Or, if none of these interest you, come up with your own content idea to try out this week.

Check back often and see how your audience is engaging. Did the new posts interest your followers, or maybe not so much? Is this an angle worth pursuing? Test out the idea for yourself!
