Shipping Policy

We take great care in shipping live, healthy plants and plant materials. However, we're no Amazon cranking out next-day deliveries!

We're a small family farm with a small team. We ship plants to all US growing zones, while also doing our best to ship at the right time of year for each zone.

As a result, our shipping policy is a little bit complicated. Please read carefully to get all of the details!

  1. When Non-Plant Materials Ship: Non-plant orders typically will be processed and shipped within 5 business days. During our peak shipping season (February-June), it may take us up to 10 business days to fulfill if we have a lot of backlogged orders. Delivery time may vary depending on the shipping destination.
  2. When Plant Materials Ship: Most of our live plant materials ship SEASONALLY in the spring or fall. Our spring shipping season starts in February for cuttings & bareroots, and later on for plant materials that are sensitive to freezing. Our fall plant shipping season is typically August-October. Many plant products are available to preorder throughout the rest of the year, but will only ship in season. If you order within our shipping season, we typically fulfill orders within a 2-3 week window.
  3. Live Plant Material Delays: Plant material may be harmed if it is frozen or overheated. That means that sometimes there may be a short delay in shipping while we wait for the weather to cooperate! If you have specific shipping instructions, please put those in the notes box and we will communicate before we ship!
  4. Shipping Rates: Shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of the package and the destination. Shipping rates are subject to change without notice.
  5. Shipping Method: We offer both standard and express shipping options, as well as local pickup. We may ship via UPS or USPS.
  6. International Shipping: We primarily ship to US, but select products may ship to Canada. International customers are responsible for paying any customs, duties, taxes, or other fees associated with the importation of their order. All Canadian shipments require a mandatory $31 phytosanitary inspection from the government. (we have no say in this matter). Please purchase the Phytosanitary certificate in our store here. We usually group Canadian orders and ship at the end of each month. If you need other arrangements, please let us know at orders@central.farm.
  7. Tracking Information: Customers will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once their order has been shipped.
  8. Lost or Damaged Packages: If a package is lost or damaged in transit, we will do our best to assist the customer in resolving the issue with the shipping carrier.
  9. Returns and Exchanges: Click here to view our refund policy.
