Planting Instructions:

  1. Choose a well-draining location with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.
  2. Prepare the soil by incorporating compost or organic matter to improve its fertility. Take a soil test to see what nutrients you may need to balance the soil.Ā 
  3. Plant the Chandler Strawberry Plants at a depth where the crown is just above the soil surface.
  4. A 12 in by 12 in spacing is recommended, but you can space further apart.
  5. Water well after planting and maintain consistent moisture throughout the growth period.

The plants were healthy and ready to get into the ground. Although Farm on Central did not have my row cover and fertilizer that day...it worked out fine. I learned through the excellent video that the row cover should be put on after a few frosts. So the fertilizer came about a week after planting and that was okay, too.
