Features:

  • Beat the Bugs and Disease: We love forum onions because they have a significant head start over spring-planted onions. We harvest in zone 6A starting in June allowing us to harvest big , disease-free onions.
  • Versatile Planting: These sets cater to both overwintering and springtime needs. While they shine as early harvests post-winter, they're equally adept as "green top" cooking onions when planted in spring.
  • Size & Quantity: Forum sets are small, dry, immature onion bulbs grown the previous season. They hover between 14-17mm in size with an approximate count of 110-130 sets per pound.
  • Short-Term Storage: They're not tailored for long-term storage, but if kept in cool and dry conditions, they typically last several months.

Growing Tips: For optimal results, plant in regions situated at 37° latitude and higher. Further South they won't size up as much, but are still good as a green top onion. Plant starting in October but continue until December or even January in zones 8 and 9.  Space 6" apart in either direction, or 1" x 1" for scallion-size onions. We have grown these in tunnels and also in garden, they do equally well in both places.

Package Sizes: Note that the amounts are approximate, we do our best to make sure the right amount is In the bag but these are done by weight, and there is some variation in the size of the bulbs.

Conventionally Grown: While we champion organic practices, it's important to note that these onions sets are conventionally grown.
