We've partnered with Sunbelt Transplants, propagating organic onion plants since 1978, to bring you bare root onion plants ready to pop into your garden and explode into full-sized bulbs!

Compared to seeds, transplants give you a 4–6 week head start, stronger stands, and higher survival rates—especially in cool springs. Plant as soon as the soil can be worked (≥40°F), and harvest jumbo bulbs 90–110 days later. Perfect for beginners and pros alike.

Note: Red Rock and Texas Super Sweet are conventionally grown varieties.

  • Hand-Pulled at Peak Vitality

    Transplants are harvested to order from Sunbelt’s fields in Arizona, and carefully examined and picked by hand.

  • Packaged With Care

    Dormant bare-root plants—no soil, no mess, easy to plant. Plants are shipped in a biodegradable wrap to minimize waste and protect roots.

  • Flexible Shipping

    You can select to receive your plants in March, April, or May, to ensure your plants arrive at the best time for your growing zone.

  • Fridge-Friendly

    Not ready to plant yet? You can store at 35–40°F for up to 3 weeks if spring is slow.
