Fall plants arrived in summer

My fall plants arrived in August right after I ordered them… and they had mold on them… I tried to wash them off and pat dry and refrigerate as instructed when they arrive too early for planting, but lost all 75 to mold. I was super bummed!

Impressive roots but too soon to tell

Some of the roots started to grow, but I only just planted them in my Greenstalk planter. Had to wait for my painters to finish a project

Quick shipping, maybe a few bad plants, maybe user error

I ordered on a Sunday and plants arrived on Thursday. Plants looked good, but I didn’t take out of the bags, just went straight to the fridge. Friday morning I potted them up in a large container all together with wet potting soil and stuck them in the shade near one of my house vents for cooler temps. I was out of town over the weekend, but when I returned on Sunday a few plants were starting to leaf out. On Tuesday I had a bed ready to plant and popped them in, but didn’t have time to mulch at the moment. I’ve kept them water well and a few days after planting added pine straw mulch. I’m afraid the heat and dry weather we have had has killed a few, but I’m still hopeful that at least half will survive. I’m happy to support The Farm on Central.

Cabot Strawberry

I purchased 25 bare root Cabot Strawberry plants mid to late August for zone 4.
As of this writing only one plant is starting to sprout leaves. I am watering every other day in a raised bed that is well drained nice soil.
I can’t give full details until I see the plants all start to grow and if I get berries next spring.
I’m not sure how long it takes for them to sprout new leaves after planting.
This is a wait and see review.

Only seeing 20 percent of plants growing leaves so far. Most looked not so good at arrival. We shall see what happens.
