Small: 3 heads of White German, 3 of Music, 3 Heads or Red German and 50 onion sets.

Large: 1# of Music, 1# of Red German, 1# of German White , and 150 onion sets.

What's in the Kit?

• Please Note: Due to limited availability this season, Forum Onion sets will not be offered. We’re substituting with Shakespeare Onion sets, a reliable variety that offers the same dual-use flexibility for both fall and spring planting.

  Enjoy onions weeks earlier with our Shakespeare Onion sets – a proven performer for both overwintering and spring planting. While we’ve long grown Forum and valued its consistency, Shakespeare brings similar versatility and delicious flavor straight from your own garden.

  Features:

  • Beat the Bugs and Disease: Like Forum, Shakespeare onion sets get a significant head start over spring-planted onions. In zone 6A, we begin harvesting full-size, disease-free bulbs in June.

  • Versatile Planting: Suitable for both fall and spring. They overwinter well for early harvests, or can be planted in spring as tender “green top” onions for cooking.

  • Size & Quantity: Small, dry, immature onion bulbs grown the previous season, typically 14–17mm in size with approximately 110–130 sets per pound.

  • Short-Term Storage: While not a long-storage onion, they’ll keep several months if stored in a cool, dry place.

1. Music Garlic: This Italian native, brought to North American grounds by Canadian farmer Al Music in the 1980s, sings with a full-bodied flavor. Celebrated for its cold-hardiness and generous cloves, the Music Garlic has played a beautiful tune in our gardens for over a decade.

2. German White Garlic: With its timeless, robust essence, the German White hails from Northern European culinary traditions. It carries an impeccable balance of zest and aroma, making it an indispensable companion in many dishes.

3. German Red Garlic: This robust heirloom, hailing from Germany and cherished for its bold, spicy flavor, thrives in diverse climates. Renowned for its large, easy-to-peel cloves and exceptional cold-hardiness, German Red Garlic has been a staple in our fields for years, delivering a rich, savory note to both gardens and kitchens.

1# of garlic will plant 20-30 ft of bed spaced at 8" apart. 1 head will plant 4-6 ft.
