Our Fig Trio is a hand-picked collection of three classic fig varieties—Ficus ‘Lattarula’ (Italian Honey), ‘Magnolia’ (Brunswick), and ‘Black Mission’—chosen to give southern growers a wide range of flavors, textures, and uses in one bundle.

This trio contains one plant from each variety and is perfect for homesteaders who want diversity, extended harvests, and a deeper fig-growing experience. All plants are nursery-grown and well-rooted, ready to establish quickly in the ground or large containers.

Plants start shipping in spring after danger of freezing and will come in robust 2" plugs. Free shipping included.

Let's Unpack This Trio:

Magnolia (Brunswick) – Large, Early Fruit
Magnolia figs are big, soft, and juicy, with a mild sweetness that works well fresh or in jams and preserves. This variety is typically the first to ripen between the three, kicking off your fig season. It’s a vigorous, productive plant that tends to fruit well even when conditions aren’t perfect—great for dependable harvests year after year.

Lattarula (Italian Honey) – Sweet & Mild
Lattarula produces light green to yellow figs with a mild, honey-like sweetness and smooth, creamy flesh. It’s one of the most reliable figs for home growers, known for consistent production and forgiving growth habits. This variety is excellent for fresh eating straight off the tree, as well as drying or light preserves.

Black Mission – Rich & Classic
Usually the last to ripen of these three varieties, Black Mission produces deep purple-black figs with bold flavor. While they can still be eaten fresh, these figs shine the most when dried, baked, or cooked down into preserves and syrups.

Together, these three varieties offer different flavors, colors, and ripening windows, giving you more versatility and a longer harvest season.

Growing Information

🌱 Plant Type: Perennial fruiting shrubs/trees

Cultivation Tips

  • Soil requirements: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Figs tolerate a range of soils but dislike wet feet. For containers, use a high-quality, well-draining potting mix.
  • Sunlight: Full sun (6–8+ hours per day) for best growth and fruit quality.
  • Watering: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, figs are fairly drought tolerant, but consistent moisture improves fruit size and yield—especially in containers.
  • Harvesting: Harvest figs when they soften, droop slightly on the stem, and show full color. Figs do not ripen once picked, so timing matters.

Beginner and advanced growers alike can enjoy this fig bundle and the extended harvest it brings.

Non-GMO Commitment: At The Farm on Central, all our plants are guaranteed non-GMO and not genetically modified in any way, upholding natural breeding methods and promoting sustainable gardening and farming practices.
