Not all eucalyptus is soft and rounded! Styx Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus ‘Styx’) leans the other direction. Its long, narrow, blue-green leaves bring a sharper, more linear look to mixed plantings and arrangements. Fast-growing and highly branched, this variety is a standout in the garden and an absolute favorite for stem cuttings.
Shipping Info: Plants ship in 6-packs and 12-packs at the end of April.
Why Grow Styx Eucalyptus?
🌿 Long, Linear Foliage
Distinctly narrower, elongated leaves give this variety a different look compared to round-leaf types.
💐 High Stem Production
Vigorous growth and strong branching mean more usable stems—ideal for cutting gardens and consistent harvests.
🌬️ Bold, Classic Fragrance
Delivers that signature eucalyptus scent—crisp, menthol-rich, and noticeable in both the garden and the vase.

Cultivation Tips
Eucalyptus thrives with minimal fuss, rewarding you with fast growth and resilience. Follow these tips for lush, healthy plants:
- Light & Location: Full sun (6+ hours daily) is essential—place in a bright spot to enhance their vibrant colors and scents. They're frost-tolerant once established, but protect young plants from hard freezes. We grow ours in our greenhouse for year round harvesting and robust growth.
- Soil & Watering: Well-drained, slightly acidic soil (pH 5.5-6.5) prevents root rot. Water deeply but infrequently; let the top inch of soil dry out between sessions. In pots, use a cactus/succulent mix amended with perlite for extra drainage.
- Fertilizing & Pruning: Feed monthly with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer during the growing season (spring-fall). Pinch tips regularly to encourage bushiness and harvestable foliage—eucalyptus responds beautifully to "cut-and-come-again" pruning.
- Pests & Care: Generally pest-resistant, but watch for aphids; a strong water spray or neem oil keeps them clean. In humid climates, ensure good air circulation to avoid fungal issues. Overwinter indoors in colder zones (USDA 8-11 hardy outdoors).
- Pro Tip: For cut-flower magic, harvest stems in the morning when hydrated, and condition in cool water with flower food. Dry bundles upside down for long-lasting decor. Regular harvesting encourages bushier growth—perfect for continuous use in bouquets or drying.
