Turmeric and ginger are high-demand, warm-season crops that thrives in rich, well-draining soil and requires plenty of warmth and moisture to reach its full potential. Perfect for gardeners looking to grow their own fresh turmeric & ginger for the first time, this beginner-friendly sampler makes it easy to get started with just a few plants. 

Shipping window: We start shipping in May and June to ensure optimal planting times.

Each sampler pack contains 3 plants:

• Option 1: 2 ginger plants + 1 Florida red turmeric. Florida red produces the largest rhizomes of all the types we grow. On our larger plants, we see yields of up to 3.5 pounds of rhizomes per plant, making it an excellent choice for someone starting with just a single plant.
• Option 2: 1 ginger plant + 1 Florida red turmeric + 1 Tennessee Wonder turmeric. This option is best if you want to try the newest turmeric strain we've added to our lineup: Tennessee Wonder. Grown by Ray Tyler at Rose Creek Farms, this strain will regionally adapt and is better-suited for northern growers than the Florida Red.

Growing Information

• Best for Zones: Grows well outside in Zone 7 or warmer. For cooler climates, it’s best grown in a high tunnel or greenhouse to ensure the warmth it needs but many gardeners have great success in pots or grow bags!
• Planting: Our plants arrive ready to grow! You can plant them directly in your garden or repot them into a larger pot for indoor or outdoor growing.
• Care Tips:
  • Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
  • Provide plenty of warmth and indirect sunlight.
  • Harvest typically occurs 7-10 months after planting, once the leaves begin to yellow and die back.
