Cherished by home gardeners for its reliability and superior taste, Heritage Raspberry offers a bountiful harvest of berries that are as versatile in their use as they are delightful in flavor. Whether you're looking to enrich your jams, enjoy fresh, or freeze for later, Heritage is a variety that promises to bring exceptional quality to your garden and table.

Quick Facts:

  • Included Growing Zone: Suitable for USDA Zones 4-8,  Note: Late bearer, frost will curtail the harvest in northern climates.
  • Heirloom Variety: Long considered the standard for fall-bearing raspberries, Heritage stands out for its productivity and high-quality fruit.
  • Highly Popular: A favorite among home gardeners for its ease of growth and abundant yield.
  • Flavor Profile & Uses: Heritage Raspberries boast good size, color, and flavor, making them perfect for jams, freezing, and fresh consumption.
  • Harvest Time: Primocane: Enjoy a highly productive fall crop that ripens from the end of August through October, depending on your location. This extended harvest period allows for prolonged enjoyment of fresh raspberries right from your garden.

History:

Heritage Raspberry not only carries a name that reflects its storied past but also continues to live up to its reputation as a garden staple. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its adaptability, ease of care, and the superior quality of its fruit. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just beginning your horticultural journey, the Heritage Raspberry offers a rewarding experience that connects you to the rich tradition of raspberry cultivation.

Growing Guide:

  • Bare Root Plant: This will come as a bare root plant, keep cool and moist until planting
  • Soil and Location: For optimal growth, plant your Heritage Raspberries in well-drained, fertile soil. They thrive in sunny to partly shaded locations, ensuring they receive enough light without being exposed to harsh afternoon sun. Space 18-30" apart.
  • Watering and Care: Regular watering is crucial, especially during dry periods, to maintain moist but not waterlogged soil. Mulching helps retain soil moisture and keep roots cool. Annual pruning is recommended to remove old canes and promote healthy new growth.
  • Pollination: These raspberries are self-fertile, eliminating the need for a separate pollinator plant. This characteristic makes them an excellent option for gardens with limited space or for gardeners looking to simplify their berry patch setup.

Heritage Raspberry TBA

I was able to plant them 5 days after I got them and they had sprouts off of the roots, which was really good to see. I’m waiting for them to come up, which is why I have TBA in the title.
